The Good Old days Now I am not an “Old Timer” by any means, but I am mature enough to remember “The Good Old
Days”. Some of us remember when life was just a little more simple. The times were a little more relaxed, and people often got by with a little help from their friends. I love my technology, but there are some things I miss about “The Good Old Days.” So heat up the coffee because you are in for a little ride down memory lane…
Top 10 Things I Miss About The Good Old Days:
10. I miss the days of Homemade Pies and Cakes. The days when the Ingredients came from the cabinet and refrigerator, and weren’t read from the Box.
9. I miss the day when someone would ask, Are Those Real? They were talking about your diamonds or gold and not other parts of your anatomy. Ok, the jury is still out on that one.
8. I miss the days when a cashier could actually figure out how much change you would get back in their head. Oh and how they would actually “Thank You” for your business instead of “here ya go!”. Now they’ve got a computer to tell them and they still can’t figure it out. You will really mess their head if you add a penny. Hahaha
7. I miss the days when kids could go off and play until dark and parents didn’t have to worry about anyone taking them. First, because the world was a better place. Second, because we were so bad that our kidnapper would bring us back! At least that’s what my parents told me.
6. I miss the days of “Can you hold please?” They would actually wait for your response, and not just click back over.
5. I miss the days when you could pass someone driving or merge and you would wave. They would wave back. Now they often wave with just 1 finger. I still don’t know what that means so I just wave back the same way, lol.
4. I miss the days when you could make a deal on a hand shake because a persons word meant something to them. Now we have to have contract to secure the previous contracts.
3. You remember the old timers would say something bad in a very low whisper. “So and So has….Cancer.” Does anyone know why they did that anyway? Now everyone knows is someones sick before they leave the doctors office. People posting information about you on Facebook and Twitter.
2. I miss the days when a Oven was actually used to cook food. Not to hide gifts or raise the property value.
1. I miss the days when I hated Elevator Music and didn’t know what it was. Now I hear it and say, “That’s my Jam”, and my kids look at me and say, “What Jam?”
We all appreciate that advantages that life brings us theses days. It is good to take a look back, and remember the good old times. Especially 1990 when gas was 89 cents a gallon and not $3.59!!! What do you miss? That’s it for now. I am out of here, and hope you enjoyed.
Leave a Comment! I love them.
